I am currently working as a certified ESL teacher at a private school in Wuxi, China. I have also taught Primary School, Middle School, and High school in Suzhou, China. I am now currently a High school Teacher in Wuxi, in the Jiangsu province. I am also tutoring older students who are planning to travel to English-speaking countries. Some of my older students that I am tutoring are preparing to take their entrance exam for various Universities. I also volunteer for our school’s summer camp program. It is something I enjoy doing and at the same time the students learn a great deal about the western culture. I also worked at the SMIC summer camp in Shanghai in July of 2010 and 2011. During the last nine years I have been a volunteer teacher for the iCity charitable organization in Suzhou, China. I also have been doing a lot of volunteer work to promote our School.

Well, there is a huge spike with the COVID – 19, Delta variance, here in Wuxi, China, along with 15 other cities. The Chinese Government has put strict travel restrictions on everyone who is living and working in those cities. I cannot travel to Suzhou, China, and I must remain in Wuxi for the remainder of August.

Once again, we can only use one entrance to enter and leave the housing complex where I live. If you use the public transit system like a bus, subway, or if you use something similar to Uber called Didi; you have to wear a Mask.

You also must provide the authorities here with your green code which is on your phone to let the authorities know you are not contaminated, and once again your temperature must be taken before entering your housing unit, getting on a bus, subway, restaurant, or store. Your green code information must be updated every 14 days and that App on your phone, tracks all of your movements, such as who you physically come in contact with. If you come in proximity of someone who is infected with the virus your green code turns to yellow or red. If you break the law and leave the city for whatever reason your green code will also turn read.

Everyone in China from the age of 12 has been mandated to be vaccinated over the next 14 days. If you are already vaccinated you must have a nucleic test done within the next 14 days as well. Some businesses here have been ordered to close due to the virus. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would have to go through this all over again .......
