In China, most people have to be told what to do step by step, but in America, you can tell people what you expect from them, and they will surprise you with their ingenuity. That reflects our two education systems; American students have more free time to exercise their creative ideas.
The Chinese students, however, have long classroom days, and their rote memorization is reflected in their lack of innovation.
It has been overemphasized that the average Chinese student can outperform Americans in the classroom - but remember that the most remarkable technological advancements that change the world originate from America.
Always with love from Suzhou, China
